On Saturday I shot Susan and Bryan's delightful morning wedding at Veranda's in Manhattan Beach. Susan and Bryan are just so darn cute that I want to get right down to it!
Here's Susan coming down the aisle with her Dad -

I love this first dance shot -

The bride's twin sister caught the bouquet -

Susan and Bryan had an awesome get-away car -

After the wedding, we wandered around and shot some portraits -

Hi there! I am excited to launch the new Boutwell Studio blog! Here you'll find all the same delightful photography, meaningless ramble and quirky musings as the old blog, just in a cuter package! Special thanks to Into the Darkroom for designing this blog (and for toiling away on the soon-to-be launched new boutwellstudio.com) and to Jessica Claire for shooting the photo of me at the top of the blog.
And since posts are no fun without piccies, here's another shot of moi, by the lovely Jessica Claire!

pee-ess: you can see what I'm up to all the time, by checking out my twitter updates, courtesy of Wrigley the bird, at the top of this blog!
delightfully,
Chenin

Last Friday I shot Marga and Brian's engagement session in downtown Santa Ana. I specifically remember meeting Marga for the first time - she was beautiful and bubbly and had bitchin' shoes. She was definitely a girl after my own heart. And I was equally delighted to meet Brian, who is so charming. I love a guy who isn't afraid to smile :)
This couple were super-fun to shoot and were up for anything. I cannot wait until their wedding this October! I am going to *bring* it, for sure!
I use this sort of light a lot and I always appreciate when my clients are troopers. This was definitely bright and definitely hot, but Marga and Brian made it look easy!
Same light, from the other direction -
Aren't they the cutest? -
And one last shot that just sums them up so well -
To Margarita and Brian: You are such a delight! I can't wait to make the trip to NorCal for your big day!
delightfully,
Chenin

Part two of my Labor Day Weekend double-header was Hilary and Dave's lovely wedding at La Venta Inn. Hilary and Dave booked me a looong time ago, so it was fun to finally get to work with them. They were both super-involved in the planning of their dream wedding and it was great to see everything come together for them!
A little dress detail-
The lovely bride -
And the handsome groom -
A nice shot of the view from La Venta-
I liked this little grab shot of Hilary and Dave walking out after the ceremony -
A little TRA Infaux-red treatment -
And one last sweet little moment -
After portraits, it was party time! I love the lanterns that Hilary and Dave hung above the dancefloor -
Hilary and her dad -
Cheers! -
Hilary and Dave wanted some nighttime shots with the view in the background. Special thanks to Julie, with Elysium Productions, who lent me a little light for this shot -
And one last little party shot -
To Hilary and Dave: So glad you had a wonderful day! You both deserve it!
delightfully,
Chenin

Part one of my Labor Day Weekend double-header was Kelly and Fraser at one of my favorite venues - [seven degrees]. Kelly and Fraser live in NYC, so we didn't get to spend much time together before their Big Day, but we hit it off great and had a ball shooting around Laguna Canyon. It was a fabulous day and I have lots of images to share!
I love this portrait of Kelly -
Ceremony time -
After the ceremony, I stole Kelly and Fraser away for a few minutes -
We were losing sun fast, so I hiked way back to this super-dirty parking lot to get the last little bit of light (thanks to Kelly and Fraser for trusting that I had a method to my madness!) -
[seven degrees] is a really cool venue/art gallery with some crazy light (but it makes for a nice challenge!) -
There's something about this first dance shot that I really love -
Kelly and her dad -
And a little detail of [seven degrees] at night -
To Kelly and Fraser: Congratulations! I hope you have a *magical* honeymoon and a safe trip home!
delightfully,
Chenin
