While in Las Vegas this past week, we had the honor and pleasure of being a part of Steve & Jen Bebb’s 10 year vow renewal. Steve & Jen are a couple of good friends and exceptionally talented photographers from Canada. They were in town for the convention, and asked us to tag along for some Vegas-style fun. Good thing, too, because Steve had to borrow my ring for the ceremony! We also had Vanessa Hall from Australia and John Michael Cooper from LV hang out with us for a couple hours and shoot some amazing photos of the Bebbs in downtown Las Vegas. Truly a unique experience shooting with two other excepional talents, and we had a TON of fun. Thanks for letting us hang with you, Jen & Steve! Congrats!

Did I mention she wore a kickass black dress? She did – rented from Rent-A-Dress. So fun. Vanessa gets tons of brides who wear bright-colored dresses. Kept joking with her that it was her influence that made Jen choose the black one.

Jen holding the videocamera… did I mention we videotaped the whole thing? We did. It was so cool to see four photographers working in four different styles, that we thought it would be fun to shoot us shooting. When I get the time, I’ll get down to editing it all together. Really a unique thing, though – to see how different people see the same thing, in the same admittedly challenging location.

So busy with shooting lately – we shot Lacey & Jake’s engagement session the day after we got back from Vegas, and despite being totally exhausted from the convention, we were totally energized to shoot some more. We’ve shot in Orange a ton, and it’s always fun to come up with new ways to see things, new places to go. Ironically, it was our own advice in our seminar that motivated us to see the world a little different. And as with every time we shoot, it was fun to boot!

On the Sunday before we left for Vegas, we shot a morning wedding for Sean & Coalee – who got hitched at the same place Chenin and I did – Tivoli Terrace in Laguna Beach. It had been four years since we’d been there, so it was kind of a trip. And since the photos of OUR wedding suck so bad (hey, we weren’t in the industry then, so we didn’t know any better), we were on a mission to prove that it had everything to do with our photographer, and nothing to do with the location (which actually is quite cute).

I think that her dance with her dad was officially the sweetest thing ever. No contest. Your daddy may love you a lot, but did he hold on to you like this for the whole five minute song??? I know mine didn’t…. but I guess that would have been a little weird if he did, huh? Me being his son and all…

Chenin’s shot of the same thing… we were both holding back the tears. And I don’t get weepy at weddings hardly at all (well, sometimes later when I’m looking at the photos – when I’m working, I’m too into the moment, usually. But later I fall to pieces. Weird, huh?)
