Nicole, Steve and I had a great time exploring the old train station in Santa Ana last week. This couple has a great easy-going and laid-back personality and some crazy good chemistry. It was a total blast shooting this engagement session. Here are a couple favorites from their session -

The photo near on the fountain is really disturning, did you use a bokeh plugin / TS? there's no reason why the leg would be out of focus they are the same level as the heads.

If you know me, you know I love the little things. And with all the time and effort my lovely clients and their fabulous event planners put in to choosing every last detail, I know how important it is to shoot those things. I love shooting engagement sessions and portraits because I feel a little less pressure and a lot more free to play and experiment. Last year, I got to shoot lots of couples in love, one fabulous photographer friend and an adorable family. Here are my favorite engagement and portrait photos from 2009 -

Well, it's official. I am a Nikon shooter (more on that later) and it was a real pleasure to break in the new gear at Melissa and Brett's engagement session last week. Poor Melissa and Brett sat in horrible traffic and almost didn't make it to their session, but we worked fast and managed to catch the last little bit of gorgeous sunlight. After the sun went down, we headed to a little tree I've admired for a while and set up a sweet little picnic-of-sorts for just a couple more shots. Chenin, I have been following your blog for about a year now, and I am continually inspired by your images! I almost passed out with excitement when I saw that you have switched to Nikon!!! My husband and I are Nikon wedding shooters, and we have recently started wondering if we should switch to Canon (since SO many pros are Canon shooters).
