Well, it’s official. I am a Nikon shooter (more on that later) and it was a real pleasure to break in the new gear at Melissa and Brett’s engagement session last week. Poor Melissa and Brett sat in horrible traffic and almost didn’t make it to their session, but we worked fast and managed to catch the last little bit of gorgeous sunlight. After the sun went down, we headed to a little tree I’ve admired for a while and set up a sweet little picnic-of-sorts for just a couple more shots. Here are some favorites from Melissa and Brett’s engagement session -
delightfully,

WELCOME TO THE DARK SIDE!!!!
Nikon shooters are few and far between especially among the OC I hear – as always love your work.
I’m really really happy that I’m not the only that admires trees. I’ve got my eye on a few right now. I LOVE the lanterns on this one. The Nikon files look great, I’m glad you increased my Nikon curiousity…I’m loving mine too!

Chenin, I have been following your blog for about a year now, and I am continually inspired by your images! I almost passed out with excitement when I saw that you have switched to Nikon!!! My husband and I are Nikon wedding shooters, and we have recently started wondering if we should switch to Canon (since SO many pros are Canon shooters). BUT, now that your in the Nikon crew, I’m not even thinking about switching!:)
I cannot wait to hear about your reasoning behind the switch.
God Bless,

these are beautiful! nikon huh? you’ve got mad skills, and I’m sure regardless of what you use as your weapon of choice, you’ll gracefully capture many magical moments. I’m looking forward to the “nikon” story. I actually shoot with both canon and nikon…I’m odd, I guess
Gooooo Nikon!!! Did you accidentally break all your Canon lenses? Isn’t that what usually holds people back from switching? =)
love love! and now you can add “expert lantern hanger” to your long list of skillz.
gorgeous shots…and YEA!! another Nikon shooter! that makes a total of 2 photoblogs i follow (self not included) who shoot Nikon…we need more!!
These are gorgeous. The last one is simply delightful- the light, the tenderness between them, the lanterns, trees, foliage… just delightful.
Can’t wait to hear the story behind the switch!
beautiful as always, very inspiring! Hoffmann.
our studio has both nikon and canon. It’s a funny thing. I like them both for different reasons
You may have been rushed, but the shots are still fantastic! Can’t wait to see the wedding photos
