I am so excited that my work is featured in this month's Professional Photographer Magazine. Some of you may know that my good friend, Jessica Claire, is getting hitched this October! I must admit that, after hearing that Jeff planned to propose to her, the first thing that came to mind was, "omg, I have to plan a party for people in the party-planning business." A little stressful, as you can imagine. But with the amazing help of my Partner in Crafting, Candice Brooke, we threw a lovely little shower for Jessica this past weekend.
The invitation, designed by "moi!" -
We hosted the shower in my garden, which was really fun for me, because it meant someone got to actually enjoy all of my hard work in the yard. Candice and I made every last little detail for this party, down to the flowers and the pom-poms, which were suspended from the roof! Here are a couple little detail shots -

My good friend Jessica Claire needed some cute shots of herself for a big Shootsac promo and I was so excited when she asked me to do them. I rarely get to shoot people all on their own (since I primarily shoot couples) and it was really fun trying to capture Jessica's free spirit. I always say that I'm a sucker for a dot or a bow, so imagine my pure joy when Jessica showed up in this fabulous dress!

One of my favorite parts of being a wedding photographer is designing and working on albums. There is something so rewarding about distilling down 1000 photos to 50 or 70 favorite images. For me, designing albums becomes a challenge to convey the real mood, emotion and events of the day in just a few images.
I've been hard at work on albums this week and I thought I'd share my latest attempt. This wedding, which took place at The Montage Resort in Laguna Beach, was a gorgeous mix of modern and vintage, designed by the teams at R Jack Balthazar and Details, Details. Enjoy!
