Part one of my Labor Day Weekend double-header was Kelly and Fraser at one of my favorite venues - [seven degrees]. Kelly and Fraser live in NYC, so we didn't get to spend much time together before their Big Day, but we hit it off great and had a ball shooting around Laguna Canyon. It was a fabulous day and I have lots of images to share!
I love this portrait of Kelly -
Ceremony time -
After the ceremony, I stole Kelly and Fraser away for a few minutes -
We were losing sun fast, so I hiked way back to this super-dirty parking lot to get the last little bit of light (thanks to Kelly and Fraser for trusting that I had a method to my madness!) -
[seven degrees] is a really cool venue/art gallery with some crazy light (but it makes for a nice challenge!) -
There's something about this first dance shot that I really love -
Kelly and her dad -
And a little detail of [seven degrees] at night -
To Kelly and Fraser: Congratulations! I hope you have a *magical* honeymoon and a safe trip home!
delightfully,
Chenin

Last night I met Melissa and Van for the first time and, boy, are they cute. They are so in love and genuine and I am really looking forward to their 700 person (!!) wedding in November. We wandered around The Montage and the beach below and I am really thrilled with the images I shot. Here ya go!
See how cute they are?
It was a gorgeous day, and I even managed to shoot around the 5 million other photographers on the beach that day :)
And one last little shot at sunset -
To Melissa and Van: Thanks for a great evening! Looking forward to your crazy day!

Chenin

Earlier this week, I took the ferry over to Balboa to shoot Michele and David's engagement session. It was a gorgeous day and they are truly a sweet couple - a perfect combination!
When I asked Michele what she was looking for in their images, she said "color, color, color!" So I really played that up for them -
And a couple that are less colorful, but just as fun!
To Michele and David: Have a safe trip back to China and thanks for a great day!
delightfully,
Chenin

I'm not one to jump on the bandwagon, and I've been resisting Twitter for some time now. To be honest, I'm sort of bitter that they ripped off my logo ;)
No, seriously....I just figure that I'm not all that interesting and that, in real life, I'm sort of a nuts-o smart-ass. The thought of sharing with other people the actual stuff that goes through my head on a daily basis is a little intimidating. But, I've got a new blog and website rollin' out soon, and I'm told by people much smarter than me that this is a must-have component. So, here goes nothin'

You need to insert that snippet of code into your sidebar.php (or whatever template you are using that produces that section).
If you need more help than that drop me an email. :)

David's right. You can add that list (LI) within the Unordered List (UL) you have set up for the Blog Roll. I think you do have it on the SideBar DIV. :) Happy Coding! I love your work, by the way.

I have people trying to talk me into this Twittering thing as well. Isn't that what a blog is for? Twitter, cell phones oh man, more to keep up with? Twitter definitely ripped off your birdie.

I too, have been resisting twitter....but perhaps it's time to flitter on over....? I admit to being rather wacky and left of center most of the time, myself.

You & Me both Chenin!! Actually.. they really did rip off my logo... well.. we were both just too lame to have a custom creation and so it's a piece of cheap iphoto stock that we both happened to select. Someday I'll be a cool kid and get something custom... until then, I'll continue to rock out my stock graphic like a brotha' from anotha' mutha'. Cheers to peeps who love tweets!

Last Saturday, my sister-in-law, Carrie, married her British sweetheart in San Diego. I had lots of help shooting it, as I was also Maid of Honor and, it turns out, it's quite hard to shoot in a strapless dress and heels, while holding the bride's bouquet :) My husband, Doug, was the main shooter for the day, and we had the help of Nic of Tamarack Studios, who I am lucky enough to have shoot with me quite often. It was sort of surreal to be working a wedding, where you know all the people there... very strange indeed. But, with the help of Doug and Nic, we got some really lovely images that I know Carrie and Adam will cherish.
Love this shot of Carrie getting ready (courtesy of Nic) -
Since it's my blog, I get to post a pic of me and the bride! -
Carrie and our Dad, walking her down the aisle -
The bridal party -
After my MOH duties were over, I got to shoot some portraits of the happy couple -
A little TS-E action -
And Nic's take on the same shot -
I love this shot of Carrie -
My first dance shot -
And Doug's shot of Carrie dancing with her dad -
To Carrie and Adam: Congrats on your beautiful day! Move home soon :)
delightfully,
Chenin

These are beautiful! Chenin, you're adorable. I have a question--what sort of strap do you have on your 5D? I've seen something like that at B&H, but I think it's for use only with a grip attached and I'm not a grip kind of girl.
