Last weekend, I shot at the Newport Beach Marriot for the first time. Tara and Blake had a lovely wedding, filled with awesome music, great spirits and tons of smiles! It was really a pleasure to work with such a sweet, adorable couple.
I love Tara's orange bouquet -
Tara walking down the aisle with her dad -
Tara and Blake had so much chemistry, it was super-easy to shoot them together -
Their grand entrance -
And, by far my favorite photo of the day.... the cake smashing -
To Tara and Blake: Have a lovely honeymoon! And congrats on the new home in Arizona!
delightfully,
Chenin

Wow. Just wow. That guy is pretty brave to pull that stunt on his wedding day. But I guess there's never really another great opportunity to smoosh cake in your wifey's face, huh? Outstanding capture!

My beloved Northsiders are one step closer to clinching their first World Series win in 99 years! Wrigley has just one thing to say about that -
It's official - for at least the next year, no one can make fun of me for being a Cubbies fan. Holy Cow!

Chenin

chenin, i was shocked when i saw the cubs made the playoffs. i mean, they barely have a winning record, but good for them. i don't think they'll win a single playoff game, and i will still always make fun of you for being a cubs fan! xo [ b ]

Hey Chenin!
I am a life long Cubs fan who was wrestled out of Chicago when I married a Connecticut boy. When my husband asked my dad for my hand, my father said yes with the caveat that he will allow it only if Pete promised that any future grand children would be Cubs fans!
So I will be sitting here in Connecticut with my daughter Maggie dreaming of tossing back a pre-game cold one at the Cubby Bear, eating a Chicago Dog in the park and closing up Murphy's after a big win.
I wish Harry were still around to sing "Take me out to the Ballgame." I can almost hear him now... "Alright! Lemme hear ya! Ah-One, Ah-Two, Ah-Three..."
Let's Go Cubs!

Congrats on the Cubs making the playoffs...I have been to a couple games at Wrigley this past year and it is such an experience. Not sure if they have the pitching to go all the way, but it is fun to make it to the post season! :)

My purpose in Vegas this week was two-fold. First, I was there to shoot for the fabulous Claudine and David, who are getting hitched later this year. Second, I was there on a super-secret Anti-mission, which you'll hear more about soon. It was darn hot and damn sunny for our session, but Claudine and David braved the ghetto, some seriously scary shooting conditions and the Neon Boneyard for our little engagement session. Here's some favorites from the day -

I spent a very wet day with Lolly and Dennis last Friday. The fabulous Jan Garcia came along to hold an umbrella and share some of his good-photo mojo with me. The day started off beautifully, while we shot Lolly getting ready at her house.
I was feelin' the mirrors that day -
This was the view outside when we went inside the church -
It was a sweet, emotional ceremony -
This was the view right after the ceremony (not quite as nice, huh?) -
Despite the bad weather, Lolly and Dennis were up for an adventure, so we headed down to the beach and had some fun -
Even the bridal party was up for the task -
For those photographers out there, the Canon 5d is actually pretty resilient to rain. I'd say I stood out in the downpour for a good 20 minutes and everything seems to be fine (I wish I could say the same for my 50 mm, though)
It was a little drier in the beautiful dining room -
Dennis and Lolly have dated on and off for about 15 years! Here's a shot of Dennis giving a beautiful toast to his bride - there wasn't a dry eye in the house (and that's not because of the weather outside!) -
And a first dance shot -
To Dennis and Lolly: Thanks for the adventure! It was a blast!
Delightfully,
Chenin

A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of working with the fabulous Carrie Goff at Vanessa and Rory's wedding in Huntington Beach. It was a lovely ceremony, followed by a super-fun reception filled with beautiful details. I am a little behind on blogging, so I'm gonna get to some photos!
A shoe-shot/getting-ready shot -
A couple of shots of Vanessa -
Vanessa and Rory chose to see each other before the ceremony, which left lots of time to do some beautiful portraits -
Just a little grab shot during the ceremony -
A couple of reception details -
The grand entrance -
And a sweet little dance shot -
To Vanessa and Rory: Thanks for letting me capture your special day!
Delightfully,
Chenin
