Last weekend, Krysti and Dave got hitched and the super-cool (and super-remote!) Rancho Sol del Pacifico in Malibu, CA.  It was a gorgeous weddings, with some of the funnest details I've seen in a while, and a gorgeous couple (who likes South Park as much as I do!) - the perfect formula for a great day of shooting. Miss Krysti was a Two-Manolo-Bride (a girl after my own heart!).  Here's the silver pair she rocked for the ceremony - Dave checking her out for the first time - Some ceremony shots - Some portraits around the beautiful venue - Some details - I love to shoot first dances while there's still some light out! - And one more shot right before sunset - To Krysti and Dave - Enjoy your honeymoon in the Caribbean!   Don't forget to bring a towel... ;) delightfully yours, Chenin

So, there's this silly tag-blog-game-chain-letter thing going around with photographers.  Basically, you have to blog about 8 things that people may or may not know about you and then name 8 other people who have to do the same on their blog.  Silly, I know, but I don't want 8 years bad luck, so here it goes - 1. I have over 25 pairs of Converse All-Star High Tops.  I store them in clear plastic boxes, labeled and everything.  I even got married in a pair of white leather All-Stars. 2. I once sat through a 14 inning Cubs game. 3. One time, I brought a Ziploc bag full of puppy tails to school.  My parents bred Australian Shepherds, which have to have their tails docked (so cattle doesn't step on them when they herd.) My mom was a vet technician so she would do it at home.  As you can imagine, I was pretty torn up about it as a kid.  I stole them from my mom and kept them in my drawer, so I could "give the tails back to the puppies" when she wasn't looking.  Once day, I brought the whole bag to school for show and tell.  That was the first of many times that my parents had to have a talk with my principal. 4.  I can say all 50 states in alphabetical order in less than 60 seconds.  I am especially good at it after two martinis. 5. I don't know my multiplication tables. (Don't judge.) 6.  My two favorite movies are "Magnolia" and "Pretty in Pink" - they are tied for first place. 7.  I spent a good part of my childhood in the hospital with a serious heart condition.  At 13, I had experimental heart surgery and, ever since, I've been healthy. 8.  I have a lot of very strange eating habits.  Such as, I love cheese, but not "end cheese," or any part of the cheese that's been exposed to air for more than about 15 seconds.  Also, I refuse to eat waffles or pancakes with a fork.  In my mind, they are a breakfast pastry and are meant to be eaten with your fingers.  In addition, I have never met anything in a tortilla that I don't like (even end cheese). And, I love beans, but I gag if I wash a pan that beans have been cooked in. That's it!  8 completely mundane facts about Chenin Boutwell!  Now, 8 people we should all know more about - 1. Dalisa Cooper (click d-blog on top of site) 2. My Hubby 3. Jeff Lawler 4. Alex and Julie Hill 5. Victor Sizemore 6. Erin Vey 7. John Michael Cooper 8. The Image is Found  thanks for playing! Delightfully Yours, Chenin

By the way, last night was a blast, and I can say that winning made it a little sweeter. Magnoila rocks. So now I am off to make sure that I do not upset the blog god. See ya! (08.29.07 @ 08:40 PM)
david baxter said: that was the most interesting 8 things i've seen so far. i'll admit it was the puppy dog tails that did it. :) (08.29.07 @ 11:39 PM)

Karen said: Can you sing the Fifty Nifty United States song too? We all had to learn it in third grade. When I'm not singing, I can also say the states in order in under 60 seconds. My friends and I (who have also obviously never grown up) still enjoy having contests to see who can do it the fastest. (08.30.07 @ 12:43 PM)
angel swanson said: ahhh! that bag of puppy tails is now forever emblazoned in my mind. :-) I love Magnolia, live in Converse (chucks and Purcells), and join you in a hatred of end cheese!! haha Hope you are having a rad week... (08.30.07 @ 05:06 PM)

Last weekend, I went back to Veranda's (yes, I shot there 3 times in 4 weeks!) and shot Shannan and Ron's wedding.  Not only are they so well suited for each other, but they were so incredibly in love.  I could go on and on about this amazing couple, but Shannan and Ron get on a plane in 45 minutes for their honeymoon and I really want them to see some of their photos!  So here it goes - The dress - The stunning bride in the dress - Shannan and her father are both competitive body builders!  Don't they look awesome together? - Then it was portrait time!  I was feeling a little quirky that day and Shannan and Ron were willing to play along - I've been shooting a lot in parking garages lately.... it's soft light with a dark background.  What  more could you want? A little reception detail - And some first dance action - And the grand exit! - To Shannan and Ron:  Enjoy your first time in Maui!  Go to Koiso Sushi in Kehei (promise you'll go!) and don't forget to make the trip to Upcountry.  Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing your special day with me! Delightfully Yours, Chenin
