I am so excited to share some fun news with you all!  My studio and work was featured in a new book, entitled “Professional Wedding Photography: Techniques and Images from Master Photographers.”  I’ve been working with the author for some time now and it’s really nice to see it come to fruition.  I am lucky enough to be one of the 10 featured photographers and am in some awesome company, including the Bebbs, Jen Dery, Altf, Andrena Photography, Cliff Mautner and George Weir.

Here is a the description of the book:
“From emotional bridal portraits and intimate images of the ceremony to
dynamic reception and wedding party shots, this illustrative sourcebook
explores the vast array of image styles available to modern wedding
photographers. Containing interviews with the top 10 wedding studio
owners in the country, this indispensable reference offers a variety of
opinions on everything from art and business philosophies to
scheduling, handling retainers, writing contracts, and executing
effective marketing plans. More than 15 images from each pro
demonstrate classic and cutting-edge techniques–as well as each
photographer’s signature wedding portrait style–and are accompanied by
details on recreating the scene. Additional tips on inspiring
expressions and moods, modulating lighting, and adjusting composition
while keeping clients relaxed during this emotionally-charged event are
also included.”

Part one of my Labor Day Weekend double-header was Kelly and Fraser at one of my favorite venues – [seven degrees].  Kelly and Fraser live in NYC, so we didn’t get to spend much time together before their Big Day, but we hit it off great and had a ball shooting around Laguna Canyon.  It was a fabulous day and I have lots of images to share!

I love this portrait of Kelly -

Ceremony time -

After the ceremony, I stole Kelly and Fraser away for a few minutes -

We were losing sun fast, so I hiked way back to this super-dirty parking lot to get the last little bit of light (thanks to Kelly and Fraser for trusting that I had a method to my madness!) -

[seven degrees] is a really cool venue/art gallery with some crazy light (but it makes for a nice challenge!) -

There’s something about this first dance shot that I really love -

Kelly and her dad -

And a little detail of [seven degrees] at night -

To Kelly and Fraser:  Congratulations!   I hope you have a *magical* honeymoon and a safe trip home!

Last night I met Melissa and Van for the first time and, boy, are they cute.  They are so in love and genuine and I am really looking forward to their 700 person (!!) wedding in November.  We wandered around The Montage and the beach below and I am really thrilled with the images I shot.  Here ya go!
See how cute they are?

It was a gorgeous day, and I even managed to shoot around the 5 million other photographers on the beach that day :)

And one last little shot at sunset -

To Melissa and Van:  Thanks for a great evening!  Looking forward to your crazy day!
