Danielle and Tommy booked me well over a year ago and I’ve been looking forward to their big day since then.  They are such a sweet and genuine couple and, best of all, they were committed to having a wedding that reflected their personalities and culture.  I absolutely loved the opportunity to shoot at the Monterey Buddhist Temple and their laid-back reception was icing on the cake.  But best of all, Danielle had incredible style and a knack for crafting – two of my favorite things :)

Check out these sweet little details (Danielle made her hair piece, on the left) -

I knew it would be a beautiful wedding when I received this gorgeous handmade invite in the mail (Danielle painted and silk-screened these by hand!) -
And (wait for it….) THE DRESS! I was over-the-moon-excited to see that Danielle had done a little dress modification and included part of her Japanese Obi with her dress -
The it was off to the Buddhist Temple to shoot their lovely ceremony -
A sweet little moment right after the ceremony -
Some portraits -

There were so many cute, handmade details at this wedding! I loved these little banners that Danielle made to guide guests to the reception -
Danielle and Tommy turned an unused room in to an art gallery, complete with family photos hung gallery-style and arts and crafts projects for the kids -
Treats and favors -
Check out this sweet cake-topper that Danielle made (the bride even has a little bow on the back of her dress!) -

As a friend of Tommy and Danielle it was a fantastic day and these pictures are amazing! It was a fun laid back day with a little whimsy and lots of Tommy and Danielle. This wedding screamed of Danielle’s personal touches and every detail was taken into consideration. There were balls on the lawn for the kids (and adults) to play with. The food was delicious, there was a photo gallery of them in the back room with crafts for the kids. The day was perfect and topped off with phenomenal weather! Thanks for sharing these pictures of such a wonderful day!
